Thursday, March 25 - 6:00 PM
New Nodaway Humane Society
Animal Shelter 829 South Depot - Maryville

Pawty for the Pound is an
NNHS fundraiser to help gather much-needed shelter supplies. This is a great way to help the shelter and the animals
provided sanctuary there without spending too much money during difficult financial times.
The shelter has a wish
list of items, including cleaning supplies, blankets, towels and care supplies (see below). Community members are invited
to choose an item from the list and bring it to the fundraiser.
Each person who brings in an item the night of
the fundraiser will receive a ticket to win a raffle prize. Beginning at 6 p.m., participants will have the opportunity
to listen to a presentation by Petlane, a home-based business that offers unique pet products.
Petlane will donate
10 percent of its sales to the shelter, along with an additional 10 percent from Misty Richmond and Jelyna Price, Petlane
Pet Advisors. Price is also a valued staff member of the NNHS shelter.
Refreshments will be served, and gently-used
pet items will also be on sale. For more information, please contact Price at (660) 853-1842 or (660) 853-1842.
A
special thanks to all the local business who have donated items/services for the raffle, to Channel 8, and to our community
for making this event a success!

Please help us care for homeless animals
According to the shelter, more than 60 dogs and over
100 cats currently call the community’s only animal shelter home. With recent cuts in government funding and a mandated
increase in the state’s minimum wage adding to staffing costs, the NNHS hopes people will step up and become part of
a special mission in their community. The NNHS shelter is unique among others since it is operated by a not-for-profit
and funded through community animal control agreements, donations, grants, fundraisers and humane society memberships, rather
than a specific county or city tax. Individual
membership is only $20 each year, and families can join for just $60. Qualifying donations are tax deductible, and all membership
dues support shelter operations, veterinary expenses, food and staff wages and help with the humane society’s mission
to provide sanctuary for animals that have no home.
